Terms of Service
Plain English: Use the platform honestly, pay your subscription, don't misuse other users' data, and we'll keep the service running. Full details below.
1. Agreement
By registering for or using PAT Manager ("the platform", "the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are registering on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these terms.
2. The service
PAT Manager provides software for managing portable appliance testing records, certificates, and client relationships. We provide the platform on a subscription basis. The platform is provided "as is" — while we work hard to maintain uptime and accuracy, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
3. Subscription and payment
- A 14-day free trial is available to new company accounts. No payment details are required during the trial.
- After the trial, continued access requires a paid subscription at £29.99/month.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time — access continues until the end of the paid period.
- We do not offer refunds for partial months.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
4. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of test results and certificates you record in the platform.
- PAT certificates generated by PAT Manager are based on the data you enter. We are not liable for incorrect results caused by data entry errors.
- You must ensure you hold appropriate qualifications and insurance to carry out PAT testing before issuing certificates to clients.
- You must keep your login credentials secure and notify us immediately of any unauthorised access.
- You must not use the platform to store data about individuals without an appropriate legal basis under UK GDPR.
5. Client data (data processor terms)
When you store your clients' personal data in PAT Manager, you are the data controller and we are your data processor. We will:
- Process your clients' data only as instructed by your use of the platform
- Implement appropriate security measures (encryption, access controls, backups)
- Not share your clients' data with third parties except as required to operate the service (Stripe/PayPal for billing)
- Assist you in responding to data subject rights requests from your clients
- Notify you of any data breach affecting your clients' data without undue delay
- Delete your clients' data when you close your account (subject to legal retention requirements)
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape or circumvent security measures
- Upload malicious files or code
- Impersonate another person or business
- Use the platform to issue fraudulent PAT certificates
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PAT Manager Ltd is not liable for:
- Loss of data (maintain your own backups of critical records)
- Business losses arising from platform downtime
- Losses arising from incorrect test data entered by users
- Losses arising from reliance on PAT certificates for legal or insurance purposes without independent verification
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the subscription fees you paid in that period.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, fail to pay, or use the platform in a way that harms other users. We will give reasonable notice except in cases of serious breach or legal requirement.
On termination, you may request an export of your data. We will provide this within 30 days. Data is then deleted in line with our retention policy.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
